Blender Bridge: Steps on how to import/export with the Daz to Blender Bridge

Follow the instructions below on how to use the Daz to Blender Bridge.

Daz Studio:
Step 1: Within Daz Studio, create your scene (Character, Environment, or Props).

Step 2: Within the top menu toolbar, select “Scripts,” “Bridges”, and then “Daz to Blender.”  A pop up window will appear with the title “Daz to Blender: SubD Level.”

Step 3: There are two scenarios that can be followed; however, this depends on how the assets are being exported from Daz Studio into Blender.

Scenario 1: If you have a Character or Environment/Props alone in your Daz Studio it will automatically export by selecting “SubDivision Level 0” and then selecting “Accept.”

A pop up window appear to select the preferred morphs.

By default the checkbox “Includes Minimal Morphs” will be selected. This includes all the head morphs and options will now be available to choose from. Either select the presets or choose your morphs based on the list provided. Double click to add the Item to the list and press "Accept."

Scenario 2: If you have both a Character and Environment/Prop to export, another pop up box will appear with the title, “Select Export Type.”  By selecting “Both” will automatically export both the  Character or Environment/Props into Blender.

Step 1: Within the top menu toolbar of Blender, select “Edit” and then select  “Preferences.” A pop up window will appear with the title “Blender Preference(s).”

Step 2: In the Preferences window, select “Add-ons.”

Step 3: Within the “Search” bar, type in DaztoBlender and select the box next to “Armature: Daz to Blender.” In the upper right corner, a pop up box will appear titled, “DaztoBlender.”

Step 4: In the Preferences window, select “Save & Load.”

Step 5: Within the “Save & Load.” menu select the checkbox Auto Run Python Scripts.

Step 6: On the Right hand side of the window you will find DazToBlender located there. You may need to open the side bar by pressing the small triangle facing to the left.

Step 7: Select “Import New Genesis 8.” The imported Character and/or Environment, Prop should now appear within Blender.
